The Paignton and District Fanciers' Association are to be heartily congratulated upon the success of their show held on 24th and 25th November 1925. ........... Perhaps the greatest rarity in the show was Lord Tavistock's fine old Guilding's Amazon; while his two splendid Black Cockatoos and Mr Whitley's Spix Macaw and ..........formed a grand lot.

His collection of birds and animals , which later became Paignton Zoo, included pairs of Hyacinthine, Lear's and Spix's Macaws in the late 1920s and early 1930s according to several reports in the magazine of the Avicultural Society during this period.
