The nest box programme of the Projeto Arara Azul has been a vital part of the conservation work for the Hyacinthine Macaw in the southern Pantanal for nearly 15 years. Today nearly 500 nest boxes have been installed and are regularly monitored and maintained. They are not only used by Hyacinthine Macaws, but by a wide range of local wildlife including falcons, hawks, ducks, toucans, bees and other parrot species.

Please do not download any of these images to other websites or for any other purpose. Those marked (PAA) were provided by the Projeto Arara Azul, the remainder by the editor.
