Another ICMBio president resigns

Colonel Homero Cequera, the president of the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio) has tendered his resignation. Readers may recall that the conservation experts at the Institute were replaced by the Bolsinaro regime with senior army officers just over a year ago. Like his predecessor, Adalberto Eberhard, the resignation follows a visit to the area by Ricardo Salles, The Brazilian Minister of the Environment. The resignations are really dismissals since Salles requested they both resign. It will be interesting to see which senior army officer takes over the ICMBio presidency.
