Lear’s Macaw - Celebrating wild and captive successes

Rosemary Low had an article on the Lear’s Macaw published in the October 2022 issue of Parrots magazine. In this she referred to the Lears’ Macaws which were held in the Bird Garden  at Harewood House. She revealed that of the 12 macaws held there 9 were actually bred there. The Bird Garden closed permanently in February of this year (2023) and all the livestock relocated. The staff then all left and no-one there now has any information about the livestock.  Rosemary has kindly allowed me to publish the article here.
