Spix’s Macaws successfully breeding in the wild.

At the end of May 2024 Cromwell Purchase reported that the pair of Spix’s Macaws re-introduced into the wild in Brazil sucessfully reared two young chicks. The first one had already left the nest and could be seen with the parent birds in the nest as well as flying around. The second one is close behind as it more cautiously put its head out of the nest hole.
