A wild hope - Article in Science by Kai Kupferschmidt

I have just read an article written earlier this month by Kai Kupferschmidt, who is based in Berlin and works for Science magazine. I was a bit disappointed that he did not mention my visit with Thomas Arndt in 1995 to the area near Curaca where we photographed and filmed the last Spix’s macaw in the wild with an Illiger’s Macaw as well as the captive female which had just been released, but disappeared soon after.  Some of these photos can be viewed on the website in the Gallery section.
