The Spix’s Macaw Presley, which inspired the animated film "Rio" was discovered by a veterinary assistant in the United States and returned to Brazil to be used for breeding.

Brazilian journalist, Roberto Kaz, wrote this interesting article with the sub-title  "The discovery of a parrot named Presley could help resurrect a near extinct species" in November 2015, which was published by the National Audaubon Society.
