Up-to-date information on the Spix’s Macaw project - October 2018

The re-introduction programme for the Spix’s Macaw in the caatinga of north-eastern Brazil will soon be underway. Called the "De-extinction of the Spix’s Macaw" here is some information on it. This is based on a presentation on the topic at this year’s annual convention of the American Federation of Aviculture held in mid-August in San Antonio, Texas.
