Will the Spix’s Macaw be the new symbol of the Brazilian federal state of Bahia?

An interesting article has appeared in the April 2024 issue of the German magazine "Papageien". A green party politican in Bahi wants to use the image of the Spix’s Macaw as a symbol on the state’s flag and coat of arms.
