Covid-19 prevents the corn replacement team operating
The corn replacement team operating in Bahia visiting corn plantations foraged by Lear’s Macaws and refunding farmers with vouchers is not able to operate because of Covid-19 restrictions. Most of the farmers are elderly and contact has to be avoided. I understand that the macaws are not being shot for foraging in the corn fields because it seems that the farmers are unable to market the corn because of the Covid-19 restrictions. The team will return to their important assignment once the restrictions are lifted. I will endeavour to keep visitors to the Blue Macaws website informed of developments.
