Breeding performance in the wild by Lear's Macaws

A researched paper entitled " Breeding to non-breeding population ratio and breeding performance of the globally endangered Lear's Macaw (Anodorhynchus leari); conservation and monitoring implications\" was published by Bird Conservation International in February 2014.  This highlighted the high performance of Lear's macaws in the wild in reproduction compared to other macaw species. I find this really interesting as Lear's macaws have proven to be quite prolific in breeding in captivity, e.g at Loro Parque in Tenerife. I was sent this paper recently by Acadaemia

The American Bird Conservancy has issued an update on its website at www.abcbirds.org about the wind farm situation in the Lear’s Macaw conservation reserve in Bahia, Brazil. I have copied and pasted the article and you can read it here. The situation is very concerning because the French company wanting to erect the wind farm is totally ignoring worldwide protest.
