IBAMA has made a decision to dissolve the Committee for the Recovery of the Spix's Macaw

I have received an agency report from Brazil issued yesterday stating that IBAMA has made a decision to dissolve the Committee for the Recovery of the Spix's Macaw. This body was set up with such high hopes in 1990, but fell victim in the past few years to conflicting attitudes and policies among the members of the Committee, particularly some of the private owners outside Brazil, who decided they wanted to trade in the species. I shall post further news and comments as I receive them.
