Interesting article in the July 2024 issue of Papageien

There is a short interesting article in the July 2024 issue of the German magazine "Papageien" about the setting up of a nature conservation centre for Spix’s Macaws  in the São Paulo zoo. Under the guidance of biologist Fernanda Vaz Guida 27 macaws, consisting of 6 pairs and 15 immature birds, have been introduced there before their eventual release into their natural habitat in Bahia. This was done at the request of CEMAVE, the Brazilian National Centre for the Research and Conservation of Wild Birds (Centro Nacional de Pesquisa e Conservção de Aves Silvestres).  The full translation can be found in the Content section under Spix’s Macaw
