Jacques Vielliard's article in Alauda 1979

Jacques Vielliard, who worked closely with Helmut Sick in Brazil wrote an article for Alauda, the French ornithological review in 1979. The first first part was his translation of a letter from Helmut Sick, sent to him just after Sick discovered the Lear's macaw in the wild in Bahia in early 1979. The second half is an interesting commentary on the Anodorhynchus macaws. I have translated the article into English and German and publish the translations with original text on this website.

Please look under Lear's Macaw in "Historical documents and naturalists' travel accounts" in "Articles" for the pdf.
