An animated film about a blue macaw - ostensibly a Spix's Macaw - , which is discovered in the USA (shades of Presley here) and sent to Brazil to pair up with a lonely female, is about to be released. Hopefully it will arouse the interest of the general public in the on-going situation with the Spix's Macaw, if only for a few months. It certainly provides a rare opportunity for all those closely involved with the re-introduction programme for the species to make contact with a much wider audience.
