The information I placed very recently on the website about the windfarm situation in Bahia referred briefly to the proposed windfarm in the Spix’s Macaw area. It stated that Voltalia had proposed another windfarm in the vicinity of Curaçá, which would have affected the eight Spix’s Macaws released in June 2022 in their quest for food. It seems that fortunately Voltalia had deemed the conservation costs too high and the proposed project had been scrapped.  The cancellation of this wind farm has increased the chances of a remarkable successful return to the wild for the species.
